2007
Fallon joined British Wadokai Karate-do Federation in January 2007.
The move to British Wadokai widened the number of instructors that Fallon was able to train under, all of whom brought a great deal of experience and skill to developing her Karate.
From February onwards she began training in earnest for her Shodan (1st Dan black-belt) spending the first part of the year immersed in the Sanbon-gumite, Ohyo-gumite and Kihon-gumite needed for her Yudan Shinsa in parallel with honing her basics and combinations. She was also instructed in Japanese philosophy, language and history in preparation for her written examination.
Fallon first experienced different styles of Karate during 2007 most notably Shito-ryu and Shotokan. She medalled in many WKF/EKF 'open' events because she had the ability to compete tactically by switching styles to outwit her opponents.
She received Shito-ryu Kata instruction from Jonathan Mottram, 4th Dan (Commonwealth Champion & EKF National Kata Coach). Shotokan Kata instruction from Dave Hazard, 7th Dan.
Kumite was taught to her by -
Ticky Donovan, O.B.E., 9th Dan - former EKF England National Squad Director renowned as the 'Worlds Most Successful Coach'. 3 times British Champion, British, European and World Team Champion, British Team Manager/Coach – World Champions Taipei 1982, Holland 1984, Australia 1986, Cairo 1988, Mexico 1990.
Greg Francis, 5th Dan -
Assistant National Coach for the English Karate Federation and former British Karate International with over thirty years experience.
Wayne Otto, O.B.E., 4th Dan - EKF England National Squad Director with 9 World Championship Titles and, without doubt, the most successful Karate competitor Britain has ever produced.
2008
